Linden Court completes new skilled rehabilitation center
North Platte, Neb. Linden Court staff are putting the final touches to their new state of the art skilled rehabilitation center.
Crews broke ground on the 25,000 square foot facility last September.
The project has been in the works for the past 18 months.
“We’re getting to the baby boomers. Surgeries are happening; knee and hip replacements are very popular. Unfortunately, the elderly fall, have fractures and they need a place to come to get that rehab,” said Linden Court Administrator Tami Smith.
The expansion includes 24 private rooms, a culinary center and court yard specific for rehabilitation.
Smith says the center is the perfect fit for the existing facility which was built in 1998.
She say the therapy gym, which includes a residential-style kitchen with working appliances, washer and dryer and a residential-style bathroom tub, and stair case, provides residents with real-world activities to ensure they are able to live safely when they return home.
“They are going to have the opportunity where they are coming in short term and they are going to have their own private dining room so that they don’t feel like they are being mixed, which for some, can be a fearful thing for people when they are just wanting just short term rehab,” said Smith.
